Yahoo! Europe corate comms head Sue Jackson has left to join payTV channel operator Discovery Networks Europe. A Yahoo! spokesperson said the company is already interviewing candidates to replace Jackson, who reted to Yahoo!’s USbased chief communications officer Chris Castrow and departs after five years.
Jackson is to join Discovery on 29 March as director of corate comms with a panEuropean remit. She replaces Virginia Lee, who left last September to relocate to Brussels. Jackson will lead a team of six, reting to DNE managing director Robin Paxton.
DNE has recently expanded its lifestyle entertainment divisions to sit alongside its factual ‘realworld’ channels and has several channel launches planned throughout Europe in 2005, said Paxton.
Yahoo! is currently locked in talks with PR agencies as it looks to rebrand Launch, its streaming audio and video and online radio service, as Yahoo! Music.
Rets suggest Yahoo! is planning to launch a digital music store and player to rival Apple’s iTunes.
